Set in the 1950s. Jack is a cabaret star and is looked after by his housekeeper Geraldine. Maggie performs with Jack in the evenings and they rehearse during the day, drink tea and discusses her latest romantic disaster.

Jacks parents Charlie and Beatrice are old music hall stars they turn up unannounced asking to stay for a few days promising to be gone by Christmas, but it’s only 7th of January.
