Blithe Spirit
by Noel Coward
Directed by Tara Kennedy
Socialite and author Charles Condomine is suffering from writer’s block over a novel he is writing about the occult, so decides to find material by inviting friends to his house for a séance, led by the eccentric medium ‘Madame Arcati’.
The event leads to the most unusual and unlikely ménage-a-trois in the history of the stage as Arcati inadvertently summons the ghost of Charles’ late, and rather temperamental first wife, Elvira. However, as only Charles can see or hear her, it causes utter chaos in his marriage to second wife, Ruth. Whilst Charles and Ruth attempt to send Elvira back to where she came from, Elvira, being wilful and jealous, has other ideas…
Join us for this classic 1940s black comedy from the pen of the late, great Noel Coward.
