Facilities at The Playhouse
Concessionary Car Parking by arrangement with Preston City Council is available in the Trinity Square Car Park, which is directly opposite The Playhouse, between 6pm and midnight on any evening you attend a show.
Pick up a Parking Permit from the Box Office to display in your car.
Each permit costs £2 (payable by cash or card) on production of a valid ticket for the current season but each permit is then valid for the whole season. Simply display the permit on your dashboard each time you park for a show.
You can also order and pay for a permit when you book tickets for a show online or by telephone and a voucher will be mailed to you with your tickets. Simply show the voucher to the box office team when you arrive and they will hand you your Parking Permit. No need to find cash or your card on the night!
The car park is often very busy so it is advisable to arrive early if you can
We have 2 spaces for wheelchair users on the front row in the auditorium and facilities for disabled visitors.
Please note that we have only two wheelchair spaces available for each performance. These must be booked in advance by telephoning the Box Office (0333 666 3366).
Unfortunately, if both spaces are already reserved, we may have to refuse entry on the night to anyone arriving without a pre-booked wheelchair space.
There are 3 small steps down into the bar from the foyer and a further step up for the auditorium. The toilets are on the same level as the auditorium.
Direct access to the auditorium through the theatre car park for wheelchair users or those that have difficulty walking can be arranged. Please let the box office know in advance if possible.
We suggest wheelchair users arrive at the theatre no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of the performance. Please make yourselves known to our box office volunteers on arrival.
Please note that it is not possible to “park” a wheelchair and use a regular seat if you are a wheelchair user. This is for Health & Safety reasons on the advice of the Emergency Services in the event that we have to evacuate the auditorium in an emergency
Assistance dogs are allowed inside the auditorium by prior agreement. Patrons must advise our box office volunteers at the time of booking and book an aisle seat.
Please contact the Box Office prior to a show if you need assistance
We have a fully licenced bar offering a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as sweets, chocolate and snacks.
It is usually open prior to the show, during the interval (where there is one) and after the show.
You can order your drinks for the interval (if appropriate) when you arrive.
If you have special requirements or need any further assistance please let us know by contacting the box office in advance of the show. We look forward to welcoming you to The Playhouse soon!
