On their honeymoons with new spouses, divorced couple Elyot and Amanda unexpectedly meet, rekindle their passion, and impulsively run away together.

In Paris, their reunion quickly turns into familiar quarrels, culminating in chaos when their abandoned partners, Sibyl and Victor, arrive. Realizing all four are mismatched, Elyot and Amanda slip away again, leaving the others to bicker.
