Broughton Players commenced productions in 1946 moving from Whittington Lane to Broadway in 1959 and in to Preston Playhouse in 1978, which has enabled them to work in a real theatre and form a closer working relationship with the other groups using the Playhouse building.

The Society presents three productions each season ranging from classical favourites, works of contemporary playwrights and recently released plays for amateur societies’ presentation. Plays of high quality are selected to suit a variety of theatrical tastes. In June the three drama societies, Broughton,Preston and Grimsargh work together on a fund raising production of One Act Plays.

Broughton Players encourage members to be involved in all aspects of a production including directing, set construction, lighting, sound technology continuity, costumes, props. safety and front of house hospitality.
